Strengthen Your Bones with Curcumin in Osteoporosis & Increase Your Activity Level

Turmeric – an herb commonly used in Indian & Asian culinary – stands out to be protective for your bones against osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a bone disease that can lead to an increased risk of fractures as your bones loses their mass and become weak over a period of time. Turmeric contains a natural chemical, Curcumin that is responsible for the magical effects of turmeric for bone health. Curcumin in Osteoporosis plays multiple roles in preventing, reversing and even curing osteoporosis if taken regularly and with correct supportive therapies.

Bones are the most important part of your body that give shape and support your structure. There are a lot of problems that are associated with the health of your bones and joints and one such condition is Osteoporosis or brittle bones. Curcumin in Osteoporosis focusses on strengthening your bones and cartilages that makes your skeletal structure more bearable.

Osteoporosis can be a nasty disease making you prone to fractures and limiting your daily activities. The terrible pain and suffering caused by the debilitating condition is absolutely awful. The worst part being that most people have no idea that they have weak or brittle bones until they suffer a fall and break their hip or wrist, or injure their back. Turmeric’s active ingredient, curcumin in osteoporosis holds high hopes improving bone mass and strengthening your structure to the core.

The condition is common in postmenopausal women. This study, which used an animal (rat) model of post-menopausal osteoporosis, builds on previous laboratory research examining turmeric’s anti-arthritic properties.

Osteoporosis literally means “porous bones.” Our bones have a honeycomb like structure from inside. In Osteoporosis, bones lose their mass and have larger holes and gaps in between compared to healthy bones. This makes your bones weak and prone to fracture even in slight impact. Curcumin in Osteoporosis plays magical effects that prevents loss of bone mass and reduces resorption of calcium from bones. Curcumin in Osteoporosis also takes part in the process of cartilage development that protects your joints and improves your activity level.

In osteoporosis, the bones become so weak that they break from relatively minor injuries. The fracture can be cracking or collapsing such as vertebral compression fractures. Use Curcumin in osteoporosis in combination of other nutritional supplements and completely stop, reverse and cure osteoporosis and bone loss… for best results!

Curcumin in Osteoporosis can do wonders which you might not have thought of before. Curcumin in Osteoporosis acts as a bone-protective supplement that enhances your functionality and reduces chances of unwanted fractures or other muscle injuries.

Know the Signs and Symptoms of Osteoporosis

Though it may seem surprising but there are no symptoms in the early stages of osteoporosis but when the bones have become weak due to the disease following signs and symptoms may be noted:

Bone fracture with relatively minor injury.

Stooped posture or forward curvature of spine.

Back pain due to fracture or collapsed vertebrae.

Loss of height over a period of time.

What are the Causes of Osteoporosis?

Contrary to what it seems, bones are alive and in fact constantly growing. They keep changing continuously throughout our lives. Some bone cells dissolve while new bone cells keep growing back in a process referred to as remodeling. With this continued renewing of bones, an individual almost replaces the skeleton in a span of about 10 years. Osteoporosis happens when there is imbalance in this remodeling process and too much of bone loss happens without new bone building to balance the same. Thus bones become porous, brittle and are susceptible to fracture. Calcium is important for bone health but it is now believed that osteoporosis results from a combination of causes which are lesser known.

Risk Factors Related To Osteoporosis

Certain factors increase the risk of osteoporosis and include the following:

Age- As we age, the risk of osteoporosis increases too.

Gender – Women are believed to have more likelihood of suffering from osteoporosis.

Family history – Having a parent or sibling with history of osteoporosis predisposes one to having the disease.

Body frame – Those who have smaller body frames are at higher risk of developing osteoporosis.

Hormonal issues – Lower levels of sex hormones (i.e. estrogen in women and testosterone in men) increases the risk of osteoporosis and that is why postmenopausal state is a very high risk factor for women.

Thyroid issues – High level of thyroid hormone can also cause bone loss.

Dietary habits – Low calcium intake, being underweight, having eating disorders or surgery to reduce size of the stomach are considered risk factors for osteoporosis.

Steroids – Long term use of steroids also can cause osteoporosis.

Medical issues – certain medical issues like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, kidney or liver disease etc can also increase the risk of osteoporosis.

Excessive alcohol intake – intake of more than two alcoholic drinks in a day increases the risk of osteoporosis.

Smoking – tobacco usage leads to weakening of bones.

Sedentary lifestyle – weight bearing exercises are good for bones and those who spend prolonged periods sitting are at increased risk of osteoporosis.

Complications Occurring From Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis can predispose the patient to fractures including that of hip and spine. Hip fractures usually result from minor falls and can lead to disability as well as complications for the patient. Spinal fractures or collapsed vertebrae can occur due to osteoporosis resulting in back pain, forward stooping posture and loss of height.

Diagnostic Tests to Diagnose Osteoporosis

Bone Mineral Density Scan — A BMD scan is done using special machine to measure bone density in a certain area of bone. It can be done on different bones in the body, e.g. hip, spine, or forearm. This test is safe and painless and provides important information about bone health.

You can Prevent Osteoporosis:

Multiple causes that increase your chances for osteoporosis are things or conditions that we cannot change like your genes that you inherit from your parents, age and your sex. But that does not put a stop to means that can possibly prevent the disease. Your daily routine can be a part of your plan to build strong and healthy bones by:

Eating healthy balanced diet that is rich in calcium and vitamin D.

Regular low impact exercise to maintain bone health such as dancing, jogging, aerobics, climbing stairs, walking and running.

Quitting alcohol and tobacco.

Effects of Curcumin in Osteoporosis Treatment

Studies have shown that Curcumin-enriched turmeric extract prevented up to 50 percent of bone loss, and also preserved bone structure and connectivity. Curcumin present in turmeric exerts bone protective effects. Not only it ameliorates pain and stiffness but also reduces inflammation. Curcumin in Osteoporosis helps bone tissue formation and inhibits osteoclasts (the cells responsible for absorption of old bones).

Recently, studies found that Curcumin in Osteoporosis can prevent further deterioration of the bone structure and produce beneficial changes in bone turnover which improves overall bone health.

However, the golden spice turmeric contains only about 1-3% of curcumin and when ingested gets flushed out of the body by liver. Due to poor solubility and permeability, curcumin fails to get absorbed from our gut and whatever fraction gets absorbed by pre-mixing curcumin with other substances like piperine gets metabolized and inactivated by Liver First Pass metabolism. This fact attributes to the phenomenon of poor bioavailability of curcumin limiting therapeutic usage of curcumin in Osteoporosis.

Keeping in mind the disadvantages of curcumin in turmeric, SNEC 30 (Self Nano Emulsifying Curcumin 30mg), a latest generation of scientifically formulated bioactive has been co-developed by Arbro Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd, DRDO (Defense Research & Development Organization), and Jamia Hamdard University in collaboration with DST (Department of Science & Technology, GOI). There is US Patent for the technology used in SNEC 30.

SNEC 30 uses Self Nano-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) which makes it the most effective fast acting agent compared to NSAIDS.

Highlights of SNEC 30

SNEDDS improves absorption of Curcumin increasing Bioavailability and fast action

Self Nano Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) helps curcumin to reach blood in less time to exert its action much better than its’ closest rival. SNEC 30 forms a stable nano emulsion in stomach and bypasses the metabolism by liver thus increases blood content of curcumin. Curcumin in SNEC 30 directly reaches into systemic blood through lymphatic system providing the basis for highest concentration at a very low dose.

SNEC 30 has “NO Side Effects”

SNEC 30 works in a synchronized fashion working on cellular membranes to organize them more orderly. This not only improves the resistance of cells against infection and malignancy as well as works on various receptors to control inflammation and pain without causing any adverse effects.

SNEC 30 is a Superior Anti-Oxidant

SNEC 30, due to its unique US patented formulation, neutralizes free radicals which makes it the best anti-oxidant. Its immunomodulatory action strengthens body’s immunity to fight against most microbial infections.

SNEC 30 is an Excellent Anti-Microbial Agent

Microbial infections in Osteoporosis are common due to tendency to muscle tear and fracture which can lead to fatal conditions if not treated timely and accurately. SNEC 30 exerts anti-microbial and disinfectant properties for a wide range of topical bacterial and fungal infections and thus lowers the risk.

SNEC 30 for Osteoporosis

SNEC 30 Works As An Anti-Inflammatory – Curcumin present in SNEC 30 reduces inflammation and prevents disease progression. Its anti-inflammatory effect is proved to be even better than NSAIDs and that too without causing any side effects.

SNEC 30 Normalizes Bone Turnover – Osteoporosis occurs when there is imbalance in bone turnover where more bone is reabsorbed and lesser new bone tissue is formed. SNEC 30 normalizes this process and thus prevents progression of osteoporosis.

SNEC 30 Inhibits Osteoclasts – Osteoclasts are the cells that reabsorb bone while new bone tissue gets generated to maintain bone health. In case of osteoporosis, there is excess of these osteoclasts compared to new bone generation. Curcumin present in SNEC 30 inhibits formation of osteoclasts which absorb lot of bone mineral making them porous and brittle.

SNEC 30 Promotes The Growth of Osteoblasts – Osteoblasts play a very important role in bone healing as they are bone forming cells and help development of new bone. Curcumin in SNEC 30 supports the growth of these osteoblasts and hence speeds up the repair of brittle bones.

Dosage and Safety:

SNEC 30 is completely safe even at very high doses but ideal dose should be customized according to individual body requirement. Trials generally report very few, if any, adverse effects of SNEC 30 even at very high dose. There have been no reports of toxicity following even large amount of turmeric ingestion.
