Say Goodbye to Joint Pain and Inflammation by Using Curcumin for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Do you often suffer from pain and stiffness in your joints or have trouble moving around and performing simple chores? Then you might have Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), which causes pain and inflammation in almost all types of joints. Fortunately, you can now control and alleviate your suffering with a hint of Curcumin for Rheumatoid Arthritis – Yes! The bright yellow chemical found in turmeric. Curcumin Supplements for Rheumatoid Arthritis unfolds new pathways as it is a natural anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-arthritic and immunomodulatory agent.

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disorder where your own immune system attacks your own body tissues. It affects the lining of the joints resulting in painful stiffness and inflammation of the joints leading to eventual erosion of bone or joint deformity. Recently, curcumin, the active chemical in turmeric, has peaked the researchers’ interests. Research shows that using curcumin for Rheumatoid Arthritis blocks certain enzymes and cytokines that lead to inflammation. It puts light on the possibility of using curcumin for Rheumatoid Arthritis as a comprehensive treatment.

Curcumin for Rheumatoid Arthritis also exerts benefits in reduction of pain, stiffness and inflammation making you more active throughout the day and increasing your activity level with less discomfort. Curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis also promises to be effective in controlling disturbed mental state as observed by depression, anxiety and feeling of hopelessness related to RA.

Curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis also acts as a superior anti-oxidant inhibiting free-radical-mediated peroxidation of membrane lipids & oxidative damage of DNA & protein which are believed to be associated with a variety of chronic pathological conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Rheumatoid arthritis is considered to be the most disabling form of arthritis – a long term disease causing pain and stiffness of the joints associated with limited range of motion and functionality. Though it can affect any joint but small joints of hands and feet are likely to be involved. Using curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis stimulates a process called Chondrogenesis (process of cartilage development) which strengthen your bone and joints and improves range of motion and functionality.

Inflammation related to RA can affect other organs such as eyes, heart, kidneys, or lungs. Highly bioavailable form of curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis is more effective in alleviating symptoms of RA than the commonly used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS). Curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis acts faster and that too without causing any adverse effects on other organs of your body.

Fast Facts about Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

RA is the most common type of autoimmune arthritis.

It is triggered by a faulty immune response in body that attacks the lining of joints and damages other parts of the body.

RA used to be known as “wasting disease” – People suffering from RA were tend to be thin-shaped and had weight loss and low appetite due to inflammation.

RA mainly affects the wrist and small joints of hand, including knuckles and middle joints of fingers.

Early diagnosis and treatment plays an important role in eradicating symptoms of RA.

Low-impact aerobic exercises such as walking and dancing improves muscle strength.

Early treatment reduces risks of joint damage leading to joint replacement.

Smoking does not only causes heart diseases, but is one of the environmental triggers that plays a role in one-third of severe cases of RA.

Low intake of vitamin D may have a link to development of RA.

Traffic pollution may play a role in RA as pollution through microscopic particulates inhaled deep into lungs is linked with inflammation.

Depression and RA travel parallel – most probably related to the pain and mental stress associated with living with a chronic illness like RA.

Pregnancy positively affects RA – Some autoimmune diseases, including RA and lupus, get better during pregnancy.

RA drastically increases the risk of heart disease – Systemic inflammation is thought to be the main culprit.

RA is closely linked with Fibromyalgia – a pain disorder marked by tender points, extreme fatigue, depression and cognitive issues known as fibro fog.

The inflammation in RA may increase the risk of developing Diabetes Mellitus 2.

Signs and Symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Prolonged morning stiffness.

Stiffness of joints following periods of inactivity.

Warm and swollen joints that are tender to touch.

Low grade fever.

No energy.

Loss of appetite.

Weight loss.

Dry eyes and mouth.

Presence of rheumatoid nodules which are solid lumps growing under skin of elbows and hands.

The ‘Causes’ behind Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease and exact cause remains unknown. Normally, your body’s immune system is meant to attack any invading organism such as bacteria, parasites, and fungi that can cause infections and pose as a threat to your well being. When this immune system becomes faulty, it starts attacking the healthy tissues of body itself creating inflammation.

In rheumatoid arthritis, the tissue that lines the joint becomes inflamed. Due to inflammation, immune cells release chemicals which damage the cartilage tissue that acts as cushion between the joints. There may be some genetic predisposition to rheumatoid arthritis.

The signs and symptoms of RA can increase and decrease in severity from time to time; they may come and go. There can be periods of flares of symptoms followed by relative remission that is when the swelling and pain of RA lessens or disappears. Eventually, rheumatoid arthritis may even cause joints to deform and shift out of place causing malfunctioning of hands and fingers.

Risk Factors Related To Rheumatoid Arthritis

Certain factors increase the risk of rheumatoid arthritis and include the following:

Age– Though rheumatoid arthritis can begin at any age, but typically it begins between the age of 40 and 60.

Gender – Women are believed to have more likelihood of suffering from RA.

Family history – Those who have family history of rheumatoid arthritis are considered at risk for the disease.

Smoking – Smoking cigarettes increases the risk considerably in the presence of family history of rheumatoid arthritis.

Obesity – Overweight people have higher risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.

Complications Occurring From Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)

Rheumatoid arthritis can predispose the patient to following complications:

Rheumatoid nodules – RA can lead to formation of solid lumps underneath the skin around pressure points like elbows. Though more common on pressure points, these nodules can develop anywhere in the body including lungs.

Osteoporosis – RA itself along with the medications used in treatment can increase the risk for osteoporosis.

Dry eyes and mouth – people with rheumatoid arthritis are at higher risk of developing Sjogren’s syndrome where moisture level gets decreased in eyes and mouth.

Heart problems – RA increases the risk of hardened and blocked arteries as well as inflammation of pericardium.

Lung diseases – Due to rheumatoid arthritis, there can be inflammation and scarring of lung resulting in shortness of breath.

Infections – RA itself and medications used for treatment can alter the immunity of an individual resulting in higher chances of getting infections.

Carpal tunnel syndrome – If wrists get involved, inflammation from RA can compress the nerves resulting in carpal tunnel syndrome affecting functionality of hands.

Lymphoma – RA increases the risk of lymphoma which is cancer of lymphatic system.

What All Diagnostic Tests Are Used To Diagnose RA?

Usually rheumatoid arthritis begins with mild symptoms like pain and stiffness of joints in the morning and hence may remain undiagnosed. Depending upon symptoms, the patient might be referred to specialist doctor to arrive at diagnosis.

Physical Exam – Affected joint may have warmth, swelling and pain upon examination.

Rheumatoid factor – It is an antibody which is found in blood of about 80 percent of patients with RA.

Anti CCP – This is another antibody which is found to be positive in almost 70 percent patients.

Elevated ESR – Erythrocyte sedimentation rate is done to check for amount of inflammation in the joints.

X-rays – Early symptomatology may not show up on the x-ray but might be helpful later to check for progression. MRI and ultrasound may need to be done depending on treating doctor’s discretion.

Curcumin for Rheumatoid Arthritis:

Curcumin, a polyphenol, is the main active component of turmeric responsible for its therapeutic effects including anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-oxidant, anti-arthritic and immunomodulation properties. Traditionally, turmeric has been used in India as a culinary spice, derived from the rhizomes (underground stems) of the plant Curcuma longa, a member of the ginger family.

Scientific studies reveals that Curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis showed highest percentage of improvement – the result being based on improvement in joint tenderness and swelling. Curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis also showed best symptomatic relief with no side effects.

However, the golden spice turmeric contains only about 1-3% of curcumin and when ingested gets flushed out of the body by liver. Due to poor solubility and permeability, curcumin fails to get absorbed from our gut and whatever fraction gets absorbed by pre-mixing curcumin with other substances like piperine gets metabolized and inactivated by Liver First Pass metabolism. This fact attributes to the phenomenon of poor bioavailability of curcumin limiting therapeutic usage of curcumin for Rheumatoid arthritis.

Keeping in mind the disadvantages of curcumin, SNEC 30 (Self Nano Emulsifying Curcumin 30mg), a latest generation of scientifically formulated bioactive has been co-developed by Arbro Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd, DRDO (Defense Research & Development Organization), and Jamia Hamdard University in collaboration with DST (Department of Science & Technology, GOI). There is US Patent for the technology used in SNEC 30.

SNEC 30 uses Self Nano-Emulsifying Drug Delivery System (SNEDDS) which makes it the most effective fast acting agent compared to NSAIDS.

As a superior anti-oxidant, SNEC 30 inhibits free-radical-mediated peroxidation of membrane lipids & oxidative damage of DNA & protein which are believed to be associated with a variety of chronic pathological conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

SNEC 30 suppresses Osteoclastogenesis (development of osteoclasts) by suppressing RANKL signaling & Osteoclastogenesis in RAW 264.7 cells which helps to reduce resorption of calcium from bone.

SNEC 30 stimulates the process of Chondrogenesis (process of cartilage development) which helps to strengthen the bone and joints.

SNEC 30’s immunomodulatory action strengthens body’s immunity to fight against most microbial infections and thus reduces the risks of infective arthritis.

Benefits of SNEC 30 in Rheumatoid Arthritis

SNEC 30 is An Excellent Anti-Inflammatory, Anti-Allergic and Analgesic

An anti-inflammatory, SNEC 30 helps to reduce pain & inflammation by acting on Cyclooxygenase (COX) and Lipoxygenase (LOX) pathway. It suppresses pain by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins through suppression of Cyclo-oxygenase-1 (COX1) and Cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX2). Dysregulated NF-kB activity occurs in a number of diseases, particularly in chronic and acute inflammatory diseases. SNEC 30 prevents NF-kB activation and thus reduces inflammation.

SNEC 30 Combats Infection In Rheumatoid Arthritis

Septic arthritis results from fungal infections like Candida as well as bacterial infection by MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus). According to studies, some anti-arthritic drugs can increase the risk of infections. SNEC 30 due to its wide anti-microbial activity inhibits growth of micro-organisms and also has a synergistic action with antibiotics and potentiates their activity.

SNEC 30 Affects Genes Transcription To Alleviate Rheumatoid Arthritis

SNEC 30 impacts gene expression of various molecular targets in order to regulate their activity. SNEC 30 modulates numerous molecular targets by altering their gene expression, signaling pathways, or through direct interaction, which in turn prevents or controls multiple disease conditions such as Rheumatoid arthritis.

SNEC 30 Prevents Progression of Rheumatoid Arthritis

It reduces free radicals which are responsible for stiffness and tenderness of muscles due to increased oxidative stress.

SNEC 30 Relieves Symptoms of Gout

Gout is a type of arthritis that occurs due to accumulation of excess uric acid in joints causing formation of uric acid crystals that leads to inflammation and pain. SNEC 30, due to its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-oxidant properties, plays an important role in elimination of uric acid from body and thus controls inflammation and pain.

SNEC 30 Protects Your Bones And Joints

SNEC 30 due to its properties of suppression of Osteoclastogenesis and Chondrogenesis protects, strengthens and restores bones and joints which improves range of motion (ROM) and thus level of activity.

SNEC 30 is Effective in Autoimmune Disorders

Certain types of arthritis occur as a result of abnormal immune system reaction, called autoimmune conditions, wherein the immune system attacks body’s own tissues. SNEC 30, a potent immunomodulatory agent, enhances immunity by activation of T cells, B cells, macrophages, neutrophils, natural killer cells and dendritic cells that take active part in body’s natural immune mechanism. SNEC 30 down-regulates the expression of various proinflammatory cytokines including TNF, IL-1, IL-2, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12 and chemokines, most likely through inactivation of the transcription factor NF-kB.

SNEC 30 Possess Anti-Arthritic Properties

Maintenance dose of SNEC 30 reduces the occurrence of arthritis and its complications. By restoring bone and joint health, SNEC 30 cuts down the prevalence pain and inflammation limiting daily activities.
